My Purpose for creating this site

Yes, I created this She is Strong site because water skiing has given me so many gifts. As I talk with more and more women in the sport, it seems as though I am not the only one.

I went to the 2017 Malibu Open, one of my first big tournaments I had ever gone to. I was so excited I was going to go watch some of the best water skiers in the world. And my mom and I had just started our podcast called "My Boss My Mom" and I thought it would be cool if we got a chance to interview some of the skiers.
One of my favorite skiers was there but she was not competing, and she was so gracious for giving us a few minutes of her time. She is one of the greatest women skiers ever April Coble Eller. I have admired her for so many years, I've been to her water ski and wake board camp, I am always inspired by this woman.

As we started the interview, (Which you can watch here April Coble's Interview) I learned a lot, but one of the things I learned was how the Malibu Open got it's start. Women did not have a place to compete anymore. When I heard that, it started not sitting right with me. Then, some other things came to light, and I started paying attention to the difficulties women have with this sport, and many sports.

What did sit right with me was how many women sign up for women's week at Coble Ski School and how empowered they all are every time they go and the stories I hear about women changing their lives. And they change their lives because of skiing, but really it's about the women coming together and lifting each other up.

I look around, and I see all these powerful women doing powerful things on and off the water and I wanted a place to share their stories. I wanted a place for other women to feel empowered and inspired by each other. I wanted a place for women to compete only against themselves on the water. I wanted a place for women in this sport to be heard and that having women lifting each other up makes for a priceless journey. So, please send me your story of your achievements.
